International Womens Day 2018

International Womens Day 2018

Here is my morning so far (by 815am) Just noted and took make-up-less pajama selfie above:

-Sleepily get up from bed, only to be lured back by 7-year-old Little Lion who has crawled back in.

-Help get kids ready for school and prep lunches

-Little Lion changing from red to purple for International Womens Day--"But Mom, we already have the right to vote." Too bad her "I Rise" shirt from @wireandhoney is in the laundry

-Ironically, I dig Little Lion's Tang Soo Do pants out of the dirty laundry to be re-used--toss it into duffel bag. Mr. Bookworm will be bringing them to TSD directly after after-school activities.

-Dig through the clean laundry pile for 'Thursday' socks for LL.

-Rush the kids out the door with Mr. Bookworm.  11 year old Mini Me has PE first period and can't be late. Mini Me also doesn't feel like wearing red or purple.  We live in a free country so I let her choose.

-It's only 815am, but I finally am eating breakfast, sending tweets for #PitMad, in my pajamas.

I am lucky in that I grew up and live in the US.  After all that 'momming' above, I will eventually change out of my pajamas into maybe purple (lavender) dress to work on the blog, pick up Hello Universe by @ErinEntrada on hold at the library, go to the dentist, have a quick lunch, and then have the privilege of going into the office to put on my white coat and pediatrician 'hat' on.

These are the freedoms and rights that I enjoy as a woman in the United States.  Let's continue to work for others even though 'we' have the right to vote, to work, to go to school, to drive, to have as many (or not any) kids as we want to.  Because it's not like that everywhere.
