May the Fourth 2020
We’re in quarantine, but you didn’t think I’d forget May the 4th, did you?
I’ve been dressing up as some form of Leia for the last four years and this year is no different.
I’ve asked my trio who their favorite character is in the Star Wars-verse, and I limited them to only being able to choose ONE.
It’s a hard decision.
Little Lion’s immediate response was baby Yoda. But baby Yoda is truly a side character in the wider Star Wars universe. So her answer is Han. Mr. Bookworm also said Han. Mini Me said Obi Wan. And I said Leia.
But, I have to admit, as soon as Mr. Bookworm chose his favorite (no hesitation), I understood it right away. Han is the character who undergoes the most transformation and growth in the original trilogy. And I still think his back story has the most potential. Yes, we all enjoyed the Solo prequel. Even if we all STEADFASTLY and WHOLEHEARTEDLY don’t agree with how they portrayed the way in which he attained his name. A big let down.
But Leia is often my dress-up character because she is a strong female character played by an equally strong female actor. I’m still so disappointed that they weren’t able to do her story arc justice in the newer films. (Understandably so since they couldn’t without Carrie Fisher.)
Who is your favorite character from Star Wars and why? Let me know in the comment section.
