Happy Leap Day!
Happy Leap Day! A day that comes once in four years, which reminds me about the books that I would (and do) read over and over again.
• The House at Pooh Corner and Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne
• The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros
• Bridget Jones’ Diary by Helen Fielding
• Where She Went by Gayle Forman
• Persuasion by Jane Austen
• Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
Not pictured: The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins because it’s on my e-reader. Also not pictured: Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen because I can’t find them.
I have many books that I LOVE, but these are the books that I re-read every so often. Why? There’s something about the familiarity of a book and its characters, like visiting an old friend. I’m sure that’s also the pool that drives many of us to read/write fan fiction too.
Which books do you re-read again and again?
Mini Me’s 8th grade teacher mailed them the letters that she had them write to themselves on Leap Day four years ago. Mini Me had pictures inside, a joke for herself**, a reminder to contact her friends from back then, and a list of songs to revisit. Her friends had amusing thoughts and pictures too, and some even sent themselves some money for their future selves. What would you say to your future self?
**Mini Me told herself to look under her mattress, in which she found a sticky note to herself that said simply, “just kidding!” :D
