Hufflepuff Letterman Jacket Upcycling
My mom has slowly been giving me things from my childhood room over the years. I have no idea what to do with my spelling and academic trophies, but I did know that when she handed over my letterman jacket from varsity cheer, I was reluctant to donate it.
Then I had an immediate epiphany. Though I went to an all-girls school, I cheered for the all-boys school counterpart....and their colors were HUFFLEPUFF HOUSE COLORS. Well, I happen to know a very loyal Hufflepuff in my house, Little Lion!
This is any easy makeover craft for people who say they are not crafty! I just ordered patches for my Hufflepuff Quidditch team captain, and we decided to put "Hogwarts" on the back because the school name goes there. The 'H' patch is for Hufflepuff but I may have to also order a small Hufflepuff patch because Little Lion was disappointed that nothing said her house name. I ordered these patches from Anything Chenille because they didn't have a minimum patch order. They took several weeks to arrive so please be aware if you have a deadline.
On Etsy, I found a lot of crafters who made embroidered iron-on name patches, so I ordered one. Little Lion had me place her name above mine instead of covering mine because she insists I'm Hufflepuff too.
I sewed on the H patch but the Hogwarts patch was tougher because the flap zippers up into a hoodie. Plus I was rushing so LL could wear her jacket on Hufflepuff pride week last week. Then I remembered that I had badge magic from Mini Me's girl scout days! So I used that to adhere the Hogwarts on back.
So very little actually crafting, but I was still able to upcycle my letterman jacket for Little Lion. I love when something thirty years old gets new life. :D
