Top Ten from our Treasure Trove
Our November picks feature the top ten sellers that we have had from our Bookdragon pop-up events so far. We thought you'd like to check them out since we are approaching gift-giving season. There are 13 in our 'Top Ten' as there were some ties. (In no particular order)
Booook! A Spooky High Contrast book by Duopress Labs and art by Jannie Ho: Yes, all of our Halloween themed board books did very well. This fun skeleton on the cover was eye-catching to all.
A Fishboy Namedβ¦.Sashimi by Dan Santat: I have been recommending this book to all my patients, to be honest. I have a review on IG and the blog, but if you like silly books, friendship, coming of age, cryptids, and small town mysteries, then Sashimi is perfect for you. The first two books of the 6 books series are out.
Vlad is Mad! by Su Moon: We love Vlad! Su Moon was our very first guest author-illustrator for Bookdragon and she was a big hit. Vlad is perfect even beyond the Halloween season because it talks about self-regulation in such a relatable way. Plus awesome pictures (and cat!) to boot.
Review here.
Dragonβs First Taco by Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri: We love tacos and we love dragons. Dragon's First Taco is a spin-off of Rubin and Salmieri's bestselling Dragons Love Tacos. Plus it's a board book that is taco-shaped. What's not to love?
Maud and the Very Eventful Week by Lisa Anchin: Maud has been a Bookdragon Bestseller since its release. Melanie loves handselling it because she adores Maud and her adventures. Review here.
Boo! Baa, LaLaLa! by Sandra Boynton: One of our all time faves, truly. Sandra Boynton has the BEST read-alouds.
To All the Boys Iβve Loved Before (graphic novel) by Jenny Han, adapted by Barbara Perez Marquez and illustrated by Akimaru and Li Lu: If you're a fan of To All the Boys trilogy by Jenny Han, then you're going to love this graphic novel adaptation. Lots of pretend (teen) dating hijinks and all of the yearning and sweetness of the original. Reviews of the novel here.
Statues by Jinju Ito: Manga has been wildly popular at Bookdragon. Statues is a teen to adult graphic novel horror that's perfect for the season. Also check out his Frankenstein adaptation.
Spooky Pookie by Sandra Boynton: I haven't read a Sandra Boynton book that I didn't make me smile. Little Pookie comes in various versions for spooky season, holiday season, birthday, and valentine's day. Spooky Pookie was very popular at our pop-up events.
Cat & Cat Adventures: The Quest for Snacks by Susie Yi: Well, you may be sick of hearing us rave about Cat & Cat Adventures, but the early graphic novel series is engaging, cute, and a big hit with our little readers. The Quest for Snacks is the first in the series, but Realms Collide (Volume 7) is giving book 1 a run for its money.
To Dance the Moon and Stars by Tasia MS and Barbara Perez Marquez: I love Nicola Yoon so much that I have pretty much read almost all of the books on her (and husband, David Yoon's) imprint, Joy Revolution. To Dance the Moon and Stars is a graphic novel YA romantasy. The illustrations lush, the yearning palpable.
Hell Followed With Us by Andrew Joseph White: Not only did Hell Followed With Us make our Top Ten, but we notice a lot of readers picking the book up and wanting to read it, even if they can't buy it right away. A must-read.
